Meet the team
Paul Voegt - Co-Founder: Having run my own computer company for 21 years in the UK I moved to Spain in 2002 with my partner Helen. Here we took over a short-term lease on the hostal La Casa Pinta in the rural white village of Sedella. We soon developed our catering and entertainment ideas but realized the rural life was not for us.

We moved down to the coast in Caleta De Velez where I began to develop the idea and internet marketing for Your Personal Cook. We soon found there was a big demand and are developing the branding of our service to reflect that we are not just one person but a team of like-minded people who love good food and excellent service.

Helen Roscoe - Co-Founder: My catering career started in a huge bakery in my home town, where I had training in all departments within the bakery. After this my career took on another food direction working for M&S the UK's top food retailer for over 15 years. I decided to move to Spain in 2002 as a joint lease holder with Paul at the beautiful hostal La Casa Pinta in Sedella.

In 2005 we moved down to the coast in Caleta De Velez where I began to work on the early contracts for Your Personal Cook. We soon found our clients loved my approach to fresh international style meals.

I have become very knowledgeable in the art of using spices and herbs after training with the International chef Asim.

Having lived in Spain for over five years I am proficient in using local produce, with fish being an important food source, along with Mediterranean vegetables and desserts.

Dale King - Chef: I have always had a passion for cooking right from an early age and started off my career as a junior working in a busy country restaurant. Whilst working I attended day release at catering college where I obtained City & Guilds qualifications.

Two years later I joined the RAF as a chef where I spent 12 years catering in various countries. During this time I catered for high-ranking officials to troops in the field and at the same time learning about the different cooking styles in each country.

I moved to Spain where I started my own catering business based on the idea of bringing the restaurant to your home and catering for dinner parties. I also run a local farmers market where I sell a wide variety of international meals. Paul and Helen made contact with me and I have now completed a number of contacts with them and feel excited about being part of your personal cook.
Andrew Ward - Chef: My catering career began in the hospitality industry at 14 years old as my family had several catering establishments such as country pubs, grill restaurants and hotels. When I had completed my formal college training, I became a professional chef, working in a team, and can cater for small groups up to large conferences and weddings of 250 guests or more. The majority of my experience has been as a Head Chef and managing my own business in Nerja.

I managed and trained a small efficient kitchen team. I purchased the majority of my produce locally and incorporated local recipes into the daily specials selection.The evening A La Carte menu offered international dishes using fresh ingredients i.e. Moroccan Lamb with spiced couscous, Grilled Dorada served with a citrus fruit and rocket salad, boned half honey-roasted duck etc.Daily specials were also offered according to what was in season at the time.

I have been contracted by private villas to cater for either holiday-makers or permanent residents. The menus have varied depending on the needs of the clients, but at all time I always source the finest ingredients and never compromise on the quality. I am capable of producing a variety of international dishes whether the clients require traditional Spanish menus or maybe an interpretation of one of their own favourites.

I am also able to assist with choosing of compatible local wines and drinks to accompany the meal.
On a personal level, I interact very well with all my clients and have been recommended on numerous occasions.
