HOME MADE CUSTARD
Preparation time: 15 mins
Serves: 4
2 egg yolks
4 teaspoons caster sugar
1 teaspoon cornflour
300 ml full fat milk
3 drops vanilla essence
1.Beat together the egg yolks, sugar and cornflour.
2.Bring the creamy milk to the boil.
3. Pour onto the egg yolk mixture, stirring all the time.
4.Pour the custard back into the pan, and stir over a gentle heat, until the mixture thickens, so that it will coat the back of a spoon.
5.Add the vanilla essence.
Best served hot on a hot fruit pie or crumble.
